Compressor Surge Problems!!!!

I resently bought a used HKS SSQV from a member off with the charge pipe for our cars. I threw it on and adjusted it all the way out(its non resirculated). I took it out of a spin and its compressor surging when it let off the gas really hard. I know this because its not blowing off nearly hard enough from the bov and you can hear it flutter from the filter. I tore the thing apart and even took the stopper out make it open up even futher and its still surging. We put my buddys newer style HKS SSQV with his charge pipe and it didnt surge at all. Anything suggestions on what I should try? :nono:

no, I hear it all the time. Its alot less at high boost though.

check the vac lines ..... take the bov part clean it and lube it ...... if that does work by a knock off from driftmotion

Dang... I took my HKS knock off from China apart, and thermal coated everything, polished the shaft on the valve, and then lubed it up with high temp anti-sieze compound that has bronze in it.

That rusty one from the link was a mess. (My spring, and all the other bare metal parts, are coated to resist heat, and keep from rusting...)

Of course, I'm talking about the waste gate.. but it's the same idea..

I took it apart and cleaned it and it still surges. Has anyone had this problem before? I've issolated it to just the bov because we tryed my buddys same bov and his worked fine

Not all bovs are created equal. There is definetly something wrong with the diaphragm in your bov. I had a fake SSQV for a little while and it surged alot and so did my bosch, my Fake Tial doesnt surge one bit.
