i did a compression test on my 89 supra turbo. the number 1 was 143
2 was140
3 150
4 142
5 145
6 170

it blows out blue smoke on startup and when it is idling for a minute. it will blow out a puff of it when i take off from a stop or give it any gas. when the a/c is on it blows out a constant stream of blue smoke at idle. the car doesnt do it going down the road unless i give it alot of gas. so what do you guys think the turbo bad? thanks.

i'm guessing that because of your compression it's something in the chamber. to my knowlege a bad turbo will not affect the compression, i don't see how it would. if it was a seal in your turbo that was leaking oil you could pull off your turbo elbow/dp and you would see carbon deposits on the turbine. but you have a difference of 30psi between #2 and #6, above the alowable limit. do another compression test and this time add a tablespoon of oil into the chamber. compare that to the compression you get without oil. depending on how the compression changes(up or down) with the oil it can point you to where you are losing compression. such as bad rings in the bottome end or bad valves/hg in the top end.

Blue smoke at start-up is probably valve seals. If the seals are bad then some oil would probably leak into the chamber and cause comp. test differences.
