i was out setting my timing and i turned over my moter by hand and i could here my motor leaking . i just put my new hg on. is that just the exaust valves?

normal(at least in my motor). if you turn it over slowly by hand you will have some gas leaking past the rings. but always a good time to do a compression test right?
