Hey guys, I am getting ready to buy a new amp for my single 12" momo sub so I don't have to hear the high whizzing sound from the old amp i am using for my rear tweeter. I am thinking of Alpine or Pioneer right now from Bestbuy for a reasonable price. I am also thinking of getting the front speaker replaced with a set of component so I can actually hear something in the front. Bestbuy only have one thing that fit for the car according to them anyway, the Rockford 6.5 series for around 152.00 before tax.

What other component speakers did you guys use that fit in the car and are they good for the price?

what year is your supra. (it makes a difference)

i've got rockford 6.5's custom mounted in the front. they're the ones with the directional component in the center. it sounds pretty nice, and i dont have the need for real components. (separate from the woofer). so i'll stick with my current setup. the 6.5's in front, and pioneer 6x9's in the rear in custom boxes.

one 12" sub custom mounted in the spare tire well, driven by a crappy radioshack amp i got for free. sounds real nice inside.

Mine is a 91 Turbo...
Here is the link to the set i am thinking of

I am not sure if the original is component or not but when I opened mine it have the speaker and the tweeter is by itself. I am also thinking of replacing the rear but it such a pain to remove. I don't see how a screwdriver can go into the last screw that is cover up by the hatch frame.

Just take the entire enclosure with its attaching bracket out. Its much easier then trying to futz around with it on.
