Stage's don't mean jack. What you need is a clutch that will hold the torque that you are wanting. Clutches are rated for torque, not HP. You also want a clutch that you feel comfortable with as far as pedal feel and engagement. A sprung disc clutch will alow for you to slip the clutch whereas a nonsprung disc has almost zero slippage (just like dropping the clutch everytime you take off). A full face clutch will typically offer a smoother engagement than a 6 or 4 puck disc, but the 6 puck usually grabs better than a full face, and a 4 puck grabs a little better than the 6, but it's harder to engage the clutch smoothly when you go with a disc that isn't full faced. The pressure plate plays a big role in the clutche's torque holding capabilities, and pedal feel ;). A 3200 lb pressure plate will hold power like a mother, but you better have some muscles on that left leg. To be on the safe side of things, you should probably get a clutch that will hold ~20% more torque than you are planning on making, just to make sure the clutch will last ;).

We have 5 Competition clutch kits (4 stage 4s, and 1 ironman) in use right now. However, there is no feedback yet.

Competition stage 4 is equivalent to spec stage 3 but with a slightly stronger pressure plate.

From a driver standpoint, the Competition "feels" better. It lets you slip more/easier and is great for the daily driver setup. Their focus is more towards the daily driver. Once you start making a bunch of power, they get nervous.

SPEC on other hand, has great customer service, at a slightly higher cost. They go racing, and are a much larger company. So, if you want something equivalent at a lower cost, go Competition. If you want customer service if/when you need it, go SPEC.

I went competition for my 1jz because it was cheaper, the materials were the same as spec, and I'm a poor bastard.
