What you talkin 'bout MDC.. you's *IS* a newb. :)

The great Mike Donohue does it again. I coudln't help but think of multiple threads I've posted in ripping apart the original poster since he didnt want to do any work and wanted the answer spoon fed to him. i think I told that kid that considering his lack of doing anything for himself... his project wasn't going to turn out. I've yet ot see a thread from him reading "New FFI working"

Awesome read Mike!
I was thoroughly intrigued through the whole thing.
Good thinking Jeff, also. That's a great idea, but I fear that it may not get read.... maybe if we incorporated a quiz of some sort? that would be killer.

Truly, the only thing I have to say about it is when you mentioned "lurking" and how it should be a couple/few days before you post anything, I must say... the longer the better. I must have lurked for a month or so before posting and really gave me a good learning curve when it came to forum etiquette, posting and responding.

the only downfall with lurker policy is that if someone comes to the forum, cannot find the answer to a desperate problem, they are unable to post for X amount of days?

however i think thats an extreme due to the fact EVERY problem ever had with ma70's has been covered here 15 times :1zhelp:

That's why we don't "enforce" a lurking period via the software. We want people to be able to get help when they need it. That's why I posted the thread. It's a "suggestion" on how to get help. :)

DrJ echos my only concern that the very people that need to read Mikes Post are the ones that more than likely won't :(

Disable the cut & paste for the page so they can't copy it, and then make them write it verbatim as part of the registration process. You can also put in a list of the 100 most common words used on the forum, such as 'like', as a spelling test. If it's spelled 'liek', that would cause them to fail....:biglaugh:
