Collected Info. Need Checkup

Alright. I've been doing research all night on my 2jzgte swap. I collected all the info I need and I'm planning on ordering my eng this week. Quick question; I want to try to restore my Mk3 as much to perfect condition as possible, so I want to buy an aftermarket transmission. I need it to be 5spd (preferably), fit with everything with no modification, and to perform well. Where can I get one?

I don't know of any after market transmissions.

I would get a good used R154 and have it completely rebuilt if your looking for a perfect condition tranny. On the same note, there are good reviews about martin crawler bushings for the shifter as far as a new and firm feeling.

IIRC, you can still get the 6spd getrag from the mk4 brand new.. but they're like 6-8k me thinks. I've never seen a R154 in 'new' condition, but there are full rebuild kits for them so they can be rebuilt to 'like new' condition. If you do use a R154, you'll need to get a 1jz bell housing for it.

Alright, I'll need the 1jz bell housing even if it's going with a 2jzgte? The R154 is 5spd right?

Aight thanks. Driftmotion carries the R154, bell housing, and rebuilt kit? Do they also have a 2jzgte rebuild kit?

^^^ $1800 is fucking insane. I know someone here local that can rebuild it for $600 includes parts/labor and installation and with 1 year warranty.
