Cold start injector system doesn't seem to be working, gotta crank it over a bunch before it fires then stumbles around for a bit until it starts to run normal. Wondering if it's possible or if anyone has just run a toggle switch to turn the injector on while you crank the motor over? Any help with this would be appreciated as its getting close to winter around here. Thanks

Are you giving it gas at the same time? When my head gasket was blown it would do the same thing, there was water/coolant sitting in the pistons and had to be cleared out before it would fire properly.

Dont people usually delete the csi when they rebuild the motor? I am wanting to delete it if it is not necessary so I suppose now would be a good time to find out if I can or not. The problem also sounds like it could be the IAC. Does it idle really low or do the rpms bounce a lot? What are other symptoms you get?

You don't delete it when you drive it 365 and winter gets to -30C or more. And did some diagnosing and I had replaced the factory clip with two spade connectors couple years back because it was broken. Well one of the spades broke as I grabbed it so it must have been almost let go already. Couldn't figure out the multimeter because someone had lost the instructions. Rewired it and will know tomorrow when I try to start it if that worked. CSI was spotless clean when I re-installed it. Still would like to know if you can just run simple on/off power to the CSI itself...

yes you can, on my old car i spliced the green wire to the starter thick white/black (auto) Black/Light Blue (M/T)

this is not the correct way to do it, and you can flood out the car very easy doing that

I dunno why anybody deletes the csi. It improves driveability, and in no way hampers performance.
And for that matter, why do people delete the egr system? My 500+ hp motor will be retaining everything, including the evap system, ac, fan clutch, and cruise control.

Ah. And you live where?
Seriously, there are some people that can live without it, but I still don't see a need to remove it, either.

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
The guy in post #7 who hacked his CSI is from Atlanta. As for not having it the EFI system performs asynchronous injection when starting which can often compensate for the lack of a CSI especially in warmer climates.
