I'm looking for new suspension for my stock '88 supra and I've read that coilovers are the way to go. What's the best to go with? I see a lot of you guys have the Tein set...Links to dealers would be appreciated as well :D

Thanks!

I've got the Tein Flex Type and I love them. Height and ride adjustability is awesome to have.

Get them at Horsepowerfreaks.com, along with the rest of your parts. Search around to find the best possible price then call them and they'll meet or beat it.

Whats the diff between the flex type and the super street type other than $500?? I'm a poor college student :(

Hm, I checked teins website real quick and all I could spot as differences between the ss and flex are that the flex comes with pillowball mounts and flex is edfc compatabile. What exactly does edfc do? I know it has something to do with a control unit in the car but what exactly can you use this control unit for?

Also whats pillowball mounts?

Thanks for answering my stupid questions so far :icon_conf

Do the coillovers give a harsher ride even on the softest set up? Also Ive had a coilover set on another car but the british weather caused the threads to be easten away by rust are the supra ones ok for that

I heard from someone who has bought both the expensive Tein setup and the cheap setup that in the future, he'll stick to the cheap setup, the extra coin wasn't worth it in his opinion.

Also, check out 935motorsports, I think he has a spectacular deal coming through on a set from a new manufacturer, if you don't mind cheap prices and bleeding edge development.

MY advice,

don't mod the car. Leave that cash for when something on the car breaks, which trust me it will.
