Coilovers with stock or upgraded sway bars?

Im looking to replace my stock suspension with Tein SS Coilovers.

Im also thinking about replacing the sway bars with the Suspension Technique ones.

Can anyone give me feedback to whether there will be much of a difference riding on the Teins with the stock sway bars vs Teins with the ST bars?

My car is only driven on the steet but I am looking for a very firm ride.

ive currently got JIC's with stock sways, i love the ride

ive driven my friends who has ST sways and megan coilovers, and its a pretty stiff ride

I've got Tein master control flex w/ EDFC & White Line f&r adjustable bars.
Think the ride is great. I have the bars set at medium and 3 programmed
settings on the EDFC 10f 10r for the neighborhood, 7f 6r for the belt way
& 3f 2r for play. 0 0 is really stiff.

Ride quality has little to do with sway bars except for one wheel bump type stuff. But for general pitch and heave stuff, as long as your d-blocks aren't creating too much friction, the sway bar won't contribute much of anything to ride. Otherwise it wouldn't be doing it's job properly.

Now whether or not you should use aftermarket bars with coilovers, depends on the rates of the bars. What are the rates on the SS? But I also think that the stock sway bar is generally stiff enough for whatever you want to do. Sometimes an upgraded rear bar can be nice to help balance the car depending how off the coilover spring rates are for what they should be. But I run stock sways on my setup and don't want any stiffer.

IMHO, if you're going with Tein Coilovers, I'd suggest the MonoFlex.

I've owned the Tein SS's before, and they are very very firm. Such that with stock sway bars, the car still had very little body roll and the handling was amazing. But I found them too stiff for my comfort and sold them and bought the Tein flex's. Now the ride is the perfect balance between sporty handling and acceptable street comfort, and I plan to get some sway bars soon to reduce body roll.

Like Tim (Wiisass) said it's really the rear sway bar that is lacking a little bit. Actually Tim did a study on various sway bars. I just bought Tanabe's the whole way around but will probably only use the rear. As far as coilovers, contact Tim. For the price difference for his setup is worth the money. The setup can be for YOUR car not a generic MKIII. Everycar's balance and weight is different.
