Coilover question

Two questions: 1. I need clarification, my local tire shop says that I cannot replace the shocks on my '87 turbo (electronic shocks were stock) with aftermarket coilovers? I see numerous shocks on the market, tien, tokico etc... 2. If I have lowering springs (eibach) installed on existing Monroe sensa trac shocks, will the handling be more "sporting". A previous owner two years ago installed monroe sensa trac shocks on the corners.
I want to lower the ride height and stiffen the ride. Thanks

local tire shop is wrong you cant hook the tems back up with coil overs but you can put coilovers on a tems car just gotta unplug and take the motors and covers out but thats like all of 6 bolts i think for each corner 3 of which youd have to take out for coilovers anyways.

you gotta take the tems off anyways if your going to install coilovers.
but yea like supaman said your tire shop is wrong. TIEN sells good coilovers.
there is plenty to chose from, read some reviews decide your price range and go for it.

If you have monroe sensatrac shocks, your TEMS is no longer functional anyway...

Get the Tien's with EDFC if you are baller. So you would be able to set the stiffness of the shocks from inside your car.
