This is kind of a continuation of my other thread "life expectancy of coil packs". i felt it might need a new one.

Basically i did the coil pack check according to TSRM, my results

:I did the resistance check which resulted in .5-.6OHMS - good
I did continuity test and all tested infinity/0 - good
Check coil pack 1 voltage: 11.7-11.8V - good
Check coil pack 2 voltage : ~11.8 - good
Check coil pack 3 voltage: 0 - not so good???? whats going on??

How could that be? Maybe a loose wire i understand but is it possible my car could be running and with power with a coil down?? I'm lost. Guidance needed.

FYI my car bucks through the RPM range (most noticeably when cold), my narrow band A/F rapidly goes from Stoich/rich to lean when the lack of power happens. (yes narrow bands arn't reliable but it keeps in sync with the acceleration flaws)

Is it possible i could be getting very low voltage to the coil thus not enough spark as needed but enough to combust??

You can run on 4 out of 6 cylinders. Get a new coil pack harness from Toyota.

But i run with a lot of power. i can barely hold the tires in first when the boost kicks in....is that plausible on 4 cylanders?

Also, can i run a wire from somewhere to give it voltage in the mean time. i have no toyota dealers for a long drive around here?

Hmm.. that is odd - I wouldn't think the car would run quite that hard on just 4 cylinders.

Inspect the wire. Verify you have 12v at the wire, and if not, find out where your break in the wire is.

I tried testing the connector the 3 wires to the coil pack connect to but coulnt get voltage out of it at all from any of the 4 wires....how do i go about testing that connector? do i have to ground it a special way?

OK, well i used a friends wire harnes to check, his came out with all 12V.
While mine was off i cleaned it off and checked it again, this time all 12V! so i must have not made enough contact yesterday or had a good enough ground cause i tried several times.

Anyway. My acceleration problem still exists. I checked the ISC for proper resistance and it was ok, i just replaced my TPS and monitor it via SAFCII

I did a boost leak test tonight as well, negative for leaks.

Symptoms:

-High idle: around 1K
-No smooth acceleration, bucking, on off power especially noticeable when engine is cold.

What elso should i look into short of replacing the ECU?

Feul pressure is strong, i have a guage for it, 39PSI idle, around 57PSI full throttle higher RPM's

Ill check out the injectors tomorrow i don't think ill have time today. But they are new RC550's, should they have same resistance as stock injectors?

What is Vf reading???

Edit: another syptom (maybe). Stalls on steeper hills when coming to a stop....and no its not bad driving via clutch lol. Last night was pretty bad, rather steep hill had to stop at the top, just died. Took a minute or two to start up, it stutters a lot at first, RPMS in the lower 1-200's before it finally picks up after 3-5 seconds.

51? i think. has to do with AC not being there or no signal from starter? something along those lines it comes up when the car stalls out or just about stalls out but just goes away. I don't believe its related at all to this problem...
