besides the main hookup to the coil packs, what are the other grounds that are connected to it

when i was disassembling my engine i think i rippped out a wire or something from the side, no damage to the coilpack itself

pics would be awesome and much appreciated
or just a very well done description

I only noticed one ground coming off of the coil packs and i ran it straight to the body of the car where the ground off the neg. terminal goes. But im pretty sure that it comes off the pack on the bottom right bolt if that helps any??

Besides the normal wires?

There's a little hole in the coil pack plate. A little screw belongs in there. It holds a wire in its place which goes from there to the fuel rail if i'm not mistaking.

But indeed you can just run your own custom wire from the coil pack to some ground on the manifold.

would it matter if it was bolted to the intake mani?

im not sure of the dynamics behind aluminum and its conductability
but i do believe it does work

Well, the ECU gets it's grounding from the intake manifold so what does that tell you?

Not that you really need the coil pack "ground" because the engine will run without it. It should be connected though. I'd explain but since most here have trouble with even basic electricity something like foucault current would probably make their heads explode...

My head won't explode JJ....I'll just try to absorb. Once I feel the ear drums swell I'll change the page.

Meanwhile, I will contribute the best I can. This is the best picture I could get without taking the cover off of the CP. The ground wire in the picture is the white wire that appears near the vents of the cover. It actually comes out of a rise in the side of the cover, but you can't see that in this pic. It bolts down, after a piece of black tape to the stud with a nut on it. I believ that to actually be a one piece stud and nut. That is located straight down from the corner of where the chrome strip starts on the cover. It is a really short wire, and goes below the nut with a ring connector.
