Hey,
I am wondering if you can buy from toyota that ground cable that connects the coil pack to the head. They are really fragile and mine is fraying and is going to rip. If anyone knows a part number or another part number that would work that would be great.

Thanks

Yeah
I thought about that and I just hate doing shitty work that can pop up again due to crimping not working right. Plus it is just easier unscrewing it and screwing in a new one.

Plus one end of the ground is very tiny and the other end is for a bolt. The car will also not start if I don't fix it right.

its really not that hard. just take the wire off and go to an electronics store, ask them to help you make it. if you crimp it with the proper tools it wont come apart. better yet, solder AND crimp it if your worried about it.

i made one in about 2 minutes. just use two crimp connectors of different sizes, (i soldered the wires in mine after i crimped them) then used brush on electric tape (awesome stuff) to seal up the connections. it's been working flawlessly...

your car really wont start without that ground wire?

ill get around to replacing it but i have NEVER had mine connected......other than it possibly causing a SLIGHT miss at idle sometimes, my car runs fine without it.

i also figured it would be grounded it you removed one of the rubber things and bolts it it straight to the valve covers.

Here is a pic of the little ground cable I am talking about if your interested. Buying a ground cable kit sounds like the answer or just making one carefully will do.

Thanks
Anymore suggestions or info would be great

im pretty sure the car WILL start without that cable, as i didnt have the cable on my coilpacks and it ran fine. i would say its highly recommended to have that ground there to ground the coils, but it would run without it. just use some wire it looks liek 16-18 gauge to me, normal wire would work i would say...[i still dont have it on my car]

If your coilpack sits on the stock rubber grommets, it requires this wire. I recently ran into this problem on mine, the screw on the coilpack side stripped and I wasn't getting a good enough connection there. The car refused to start. Replace this screw, and instantly the car starts as usual.

the ground makes a HUGE diffenence, especially if you are trying to time your car. last night, me and my friend were timing his 91T, and that shit just runs like shit compared to when we connected the ground for the coil packs (we had to make one too, the previous owner was an idiot and ripped it off). so i suggest making one, its nearly free, really quick, and you wont be sorry
