I've been having some rough idling issues, stalling and falling on its face during acceleration. The CEL says that its 22, 41 and 51. I have tried adjusting the TPS, and the same results continue, so I bought a new one and put it on as well as a new coolant temperature sensor and thermostat (the car would not heat up past 160 degrees). It is now running at 195 or so but the CEL is still on for all three codes. I have tried resetting the ECU by unplugging the battery until the clock and radio reset. It seems to be running a little better but I drove about 40 miles and used about 4 gallons on gas. It stalls less, and idles a little better. If anyone can point me in any direction it'd be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the A/C is not on. Make sure your foot is not on the accelerator pedal, or it is not hanging open at all.

This is when I am adjusting, correct. Does it matter that the car does not have a/c no compressor or anything and when the rebuild was done the throttle adjustment screw was not put back.

And am I looking at the TPS harness, or the ECU harness

*Update* Took the car out this morning. It is kinda chilly and it took a while to start like the coolant temp sensor was bad...It was just replaced. It also seems that it takes about 10 minutes for the car to warm up stays around 100 degrees, then moves up to and fluctuates from 180-195. But all in all it runs way better.

Thanks for the help

When in diagnostic mode, if the accelerator is depressed 51 is set. You only need to open the throttle enough to open the IDL contact. Did you look at the diagram I linked?

Does it matter that the car does not have a/c no compressor

Nope. It is electrical in this case. I would have to look, which you can do also in the book.

or anything and when the rebuild was done the throttle adjustment screw was not put back.

If the IDL contacts were opened because the plate is open or misadjusted, that is what sets 51.

Did you look at that link? It is just one place for you to check. You have to check all things that set the codes. In your case, they share computer ground. That is E2. It is filtered in the computer, and isn't to be grounded externaly. Or disconnected. I don't know if that is what is wrong, you could have seperate faults.

I don't know that you even had the TPS plugged in right. It could have been wrong, and you fixed it while doing something else and plugged it back in .

It is a computer filtered ground. Don't do anything with it other than make sure it is connected to the ECU and not broken.
