so this is a thread devoted to victims of code 61 lol
we keep on suffering from code 61
here's my test procedure
check the sensor with meter on ohm and spin left rear wheel
does meter deflect readings?
> yes - your speed sensor itself is fine
> no - replace your sensor
check continuity from speed sensor wire right through to auto ecu
does it read 0.00?
> yes - good
> no - you have a bad speed signal wire
check continuity of sensor and ground through tranny/chassis
does it read 0.00?
> yes - do the checks in the tsrm on the auto ecu
> no - add a new ground wire to the 12mm nut on the sensor to chassis then check continuity, if readings are good hopefully o/d light no more
Have you done a swap? transmission/wiring harnesses etc?
> ensure that the same speed sensor is used from the original tranny
i'll see how the ground wire thing goes tomorrow and hopefully our code 61 is solved
