hey my car has code 51 and i was wondering how much time/money am i looking to have to spend to correct this.....and also can i drive the car with the engine light on because i need to head back to school tomorrow and i dont want to drive the car if im going to be making it worse.... and yes, another stupid newb question by me

Its not a stupid newbie question... at least your trying to learn, unlike some others I've seen.

Code 51 is probably due to the TPS (throttle position sensor) being out of calibration. It probably won't cost you anything and is very easy to get to. You need to have a digital ohm meter though to do it correctly. heres a link in the TSRM for what you'll need:

thanks, and yes i really am trying to learn...i have loved the supra since i first laid eyes on my friends older brothers.....i had to wait 4+ years to own one....but the time is here

Yea, I don't know for sure how long mine was out of wack but I didn't even really notice a difference after I fixed it. It won't really hurt the engine I don't think if its not running funny because of it.
