hey all,

just got my rebuild done and the engine is in the car not starting. i pulled the codes and got a code 41 so i tested the TPS -- it was bad.

got a new TPS from the dealership and put it on the throttle body, adjusted it and it looked like it was working fine. put it all on the car and got a code 51 (it was plugged in)

i'm getting fuel and spark, is there any way to check and see if the plug is alright? i don't know that adjusting it will do any good since it's brand new and checked with all the tsrm specs.

So is it just turning over and over and over?

I know you've double checked, but is the timing absolutely correct?
Is the EFI fuse good?
Gas?

I had to ask. Good luck.

would a code 51 cause it to not fire? i figured it'd just be a rough idle.

as for timing, i've set the crank pulley at 0 and mounted the dist. in the center position, but haven't gotten any farther than that. i've got a timing light but didn't think i could use that til the engine was running.
efi fuse is good.
gas has been in it since beginning of june so bad gas is a definite posibility.

just readjusted it and i'm still getting the code 51, even though i successfully turned it over a few times without it throwing the code then it got it.

You have to set the crank at zero, AND the cams on their marks in order to be at TDC. The crank will turn twice to every one rotation of the cams, so it's very easy to get it 180 out.
