Hello Supramania.

I have been driving my swapped car for almost three years now and for some reason over the last year only the speed sensor code, 42 has been thrown on my 1jz MT ECU.

Is there a way I can fool the computer to see a pulse? If so, does the signal come from the cluster or the transmission (which I know is cable actuated for speed)

Finally, is this putting my car in limp mode?

Thanks,

Alex

Is this causing your check engine light to stay on? Generally, it shouldn't, which is why I'm asking. Disabling the speed input to the ECU usually only causes a CEL over ~124mph.

As far as I can tell, the speed input to the ECU is only used for the speed cut. So having it disconnected won't really do anything other than cause a code and a CEL as I described.

The signal is sent via a pink wire (the only one of this color) from the gauge cluster to the ECU via the M1 connector.
