Little bit of background: OK, I just did an NA->T Swap in my 89 Supra. Got all the 89 electronics, harness/ECU... Car is an Automatic with the turbo trans. Motor was just fully rebuilt with stock pistons and an OEM HG.

After I got the car all done, took it down the road for a test drive, ran fine down the road Boosted it a little bit and it smoked like a mother on decel - turbo was trash, swapped it out with another I had and that prob is fixed -

OK.. After I swapped the turbo I've driven it approx 30-40 miles, ran absolutely beautiful. Then when I was looking under the hood I noticed that the little hoses on the valve covers were the wrong size and weren't sealing, soooo I took off the accordian hose, the 3k pipe, and that metal line that connects the TB with the valve covers and the accordian hose... Fix the problem with the little hoses, put it back together and finally get around to hooking up my o2 sensor.

Then the 'fun' begins. The car will start and idle absolutely fine but as soon as I give it gas it's like I'm brake boosting. You can hear the car building boost in park and neutral. The car is also running pig rich, backfiring and all that jazz The turbo will get SUPER hot after the car is just sitting and revving for 2-3 minutes (trans worked in the previous car, new filter and fluids. It also shifted fine so I dont believe this is my problem) So I asked about this problem in the Louisville thread and they said the TB plug may have come undone (not the prob). Anyway, I checked the codes and all I got was the code 34. I tried unhooking the o2 sensor-nothing. Checked all my hoses-nothing. Tried yelling/cursing at the car-nothing. Tried bribing it w/ promises of performance parts-nothing. Cat's/exhaust restrictions are also not my prob, still running on a 3" straight downpipe.

I think I've covered everything and I can't think of what the problem would be.

Some other things I've done since then that I don't feel would have any effect whatsoever... Replaced the NA tach w/ the turbo one *just the tach, not the whole unit*, hooked up the radio (with the right harness), put the interior back together (maybe I hit a wire w/ a screw?), took the targa off,

And one last thing, the radiator has a tiny hole in it, I got a replacement unit that I'm going to put in, but I don't think that has anything to do w/ it either.

Somebody.... please help

Probably a boost leak. Try checking all your intercooler pipes.

:werd:

You created a boost leak when you took the 3000 pipe stuff off. Check and make sure all the pipes are connected good and tight. ALso check your stock bov valve, could be stuck open.

*sigh* I found it... nothing impressive at all...

The plastic hose coming up from the IC is cracked (and the timing was still at TDC) Taped the crack *band-aid, I know* and adjusted the timing, it's actually running fine now.

Wierd a tiny little crack will F up your world for a few days.

Oh, and +1's all around
