The enigne will not run as long as you have code 14. Follow the flow chart as Shaeff suggested. Here's what is supposed to happen:

1) Ecu reads crank angle (G1 and G2) and rpm signal (NE) from CPS.

2) Ecu outputs firing signal (IGt) and a two bit binary code (IGDa and IDGb) to ignitor. Code determines which cylinder pair to fire. (The 7M-GTE uses DLI waste spark).

3) Ignitor determines dwell and fires coil for the designated cylinder pair.

4) Coil counter-EMF generates a confirmation signal (IGf) within the ignitor which then sends it to the ecu to confirm spark did indeed occur. If the ecu receives this confirmation it contines on with the next ignition event.

5) If the ecu doesn't receive X number of IGf signals in succession fuel injection is halted (to prevent catalyst overheat) and code 14 is set.

A minor correction: high tension by definition refers to the secondary ignition (spark plug) leads.

Check everything that won't cause a spark or everything that causes a spark but prevents an IGf from being generated or, if generated, not received by the ecu. Do you understand "wuzzat" means? If not take the car to a mechanic and show him this. The other solution is to jack up the radiator cap and drive another car under it. Spend the money you saved on repairs becoming literate.

JJ's explination is dead nuts accurate, but I like to keep them simple. IGT is ignition trigger, IGF is ignition fired, letting the ECU know the requested ignition event happened.
If your car runs, pull the EFI fuse for 30 seconds and reinstall. Does your car run?

hey all!

wow, thanks for all the help....

i haven't been able to look at my car cause it's been at my friend's place...
but i guess i'm okay, because the car does run.

it DID poop on me while i was driving home from work the other day though, and i think that's when it threw the code. the thing is the check engine light came on while the car was still running...

anyway, i'll take me a look! and thanks again! appreciate all the help guys :D
