Code 13

Hey guys. I am throwing a code 13 on my JZA70.

RPM Signal
Diagnosis
No "NE" signal to ECU when engine speed is about 1,000 RPM.
Trouble Area
Distributor, or CPS, circuit
Distributor or CPS
ECU


It drives great, everything shows as it should. My speed cut is at ~210 km/h, not 180 as it should be. Pink wire to/near the ecu is fine as far as I can tell.

Ideas? thanks.

Any ideas why my speedcut would be engaging at 210 instead of 180 like it should??

Finally got the chance to check that out a few hours ago and I got 2 different buddies to check their speedo against mine on the highway, at most there was a 5 kph difference.

Sooo, this is interesting.

code 13 for me was the CPS...we went back and checked the wiring and found a couple of spots where a few strand of the copper wiring was sticking out and grounding out on the shielding of the shielded cable

Well I installed my Speedcut defender and that did what it was supposed to, great fun.

Anyways should I be checking my wiring to and from areas like the CPS? If there was a wiring problem I just presumed that my car would run like a bag.

I erased the code and as soon as I start the car back up it comes on right away; like within 3 seconds of the car starting.

Have some time set aside to play with the car tommorow and that light is starting to drive me crazy. Thanks again.
