Just checked hoping it would help me with my roughness problem and here she is.

Now I read about the distributor or CPS on the cygnus site and now im lost.

What should i look at first? Anyone solve this problem before

Here is some information on whats goin on. I can hear and feel the car misfiring. It runs rough. At higher RPMs I get a little smoother accelleration. Its most noticeable when at idle.

Any help would score major rep!

The ECU is not recieving the CPS signal. Look at the plug first.

code 12 is the flash that pops up to let you know the flash codes are ready to go right?

Well from some snooping I found the CPS wires. Seems fine and in place. Anything to bring it to the next level?

If I remember right, 12 is an interuption of the G or N signal. That is RPM and crank/cam position. Do you have a tach? Does it pulse when you crank the car?

Hell, I was answering the subject header, code 12. How is it when it is cold?

It runs rough. It misses a lot and I can smell the gas. I am going to put some 91 octane in tonight. See if I can notice a difference.
But to answer the question more clearly. It misses Cold or warm. I am taking my car out in the morning tom. Ill give a status report them. Ill video tape the tach and capture some sound tomorrow.

Never..I bought the car from some guy in november. This is the first problem ive ever expereienced. If I get no clear solution Ill start throwin some cash at it...

Im thinking, rotor,cap, plugs and wires.

A leaking EGR valve will cause a rough idle also. Even stalling if it is wide open.

What should I do to check this out Nick? I know most of my stuff just not on the Supra. A little explination would be nice. Ill go read up on the TSRM now.

Carbon can build up and make the valve hang open a bit.

I fixed it! I wanted to make sure it was my plug wires before I shelled out cash to buy em. Got my voltmeter. ran it across cylinder 1's plug.. No reading. Pulled cylinder 2. around 12 ohms.. I said I knew it. I went to my garaged and ghetto rigged a plug wire

I had some MSD wires from a 440 Charger hemi V8 layin around. Got the shortest one and Voila! Ghetto ignition Supra!

Dont worry it wont stay like that long
