Like it says, code 11.......

ECU power, or something of that nature.....

What exactly does it mean?

Whats wrong?

How do I fix/test it?

Is anything messed up?

Open to any ideas, I've tried everything that I can think of.... which consisted of checking all the fuses, and I couldn't find anything, any fuses that I may have missed? Is there a wire, or wires, that I didn't hook up? I got all my other problems solved......

Car is an 87, a questionable plug is shown in the attached pic, wires were cut when I got the harness.... Only thing I can think of.... Plug is #2....

Also, car will not turn over on it's own... no power going to the little plug on the starter.... I just hooked a wire up to it and put it on the battery.... Plugs were firing..... it backfired a few times, but I'm only 25% sure I timed it right..... Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.

OK, i read everything, well, what I thought sounded worthy of reading, from my search, and all of the posts never got answered really.....

I hooked up 2 "wires" or groups of wires under the intake.

ANy other ideas?

Not yet, I was more worried about actual power not getting to it..... plus I didn't have anything that showed me what wires were what, but I do now.

Thanks for the help Grim.

I have school today, but afterwards I'll try doing the ground. If the temp fixes it, can I just leave it like that or am I going to have to chase down all the grounds and check them?

Would leaving one of the grounds off the block do this? *the one on the trans bolt by the starter* I noticed it was off, but all the others are connected.

The car wont turn over on it's own power, as stated before, but I can hear the starter relay "clicking", is the ECU my problem, or do I have yet another problem beside my code 11?

I had the same issue and i think it was the five wires on the underside of the intake mani somehow i missed them when i did my injectors and fpr. The car would not crank at all. Also i ended up finding out my battery was shot.

I too had this problem. In addition, I was getting intermitten no spark.

I jiggled every wire in the wiring harness and could not duplicate the problem, but I did find that on my positive battery cable, the little screws that hold the wires down on the (part of the wire that connects to the battery post) were very loose and my power wires were very very loose there.

After tightening those down good and tight, all my problems were cured. Even some other problems that I didn't think were related.

If a temp ground soves it, you can just leave the temp wire hooked up.

It certainly sounds like you have a battery / power delivery problem as well, and I'd make sure you have a few good solid grounds connected to the block, head, and intake manifold.

Awesome... no code 11...... no codes at all in fact. Wasn't cranking because of the neutral safety switch......

Now my next question.......

I have no tach and that bothers me, how do I go about getting it back? All the other gauges work, temp, oil press., fuel, voltage, anyway, the rest work..... Any ideas? I know there's a "dead dash" thread, but I don't think the problems are exactly the same. like I stated before, it was swapped from an 87 NA 5sp, to an 87T Auto, but it's still a 5sp....... Anyway, anyway to hook it up?

Thanks again Grim, I owe you one, or two....

lol, what about the Speedo then? I lied, it doesn't work either. Which is weird since it's still got the w-58 just like it did before. Would a guage cluster from an 86 work in this? I seen one on ebay for like $40 shipped or something, but it's from an 86T. Would it still all hook up the same? *same plugs?*

Auction ends tonight...... so.... :icon_conf

The tach may not be working because of the different igntion system the turbo uses.

When I did my swap I followed Dr. Jonezz directions on how to modify the tachometer for the turbo engines.

I am not an electrician at all but I did it and it appears to be working just fine.

Let me see if I can find the link.

Ok, go here --->http://www.speedtoys.com/~stryder/

Scroll down to the bottom where it says "Caveats". The first bullet is how to change the N/A tach to work with the Turbo models.

Good luck.

speedo cable was broke inside the "cup" that it sits in.... damn turbo... :icon_mad: Too much power before it even got started.....

OK....... I seen the part to fix the tach.... who the/what the heck is that peice that you need to do that to? I didn't see anything anywhere that looked like that (not that I looked extra hard). Tot hose who have done this, does the NA temp gauge read right? Because, it may just be me, but the engine bay seems REALLY hot, but the gauge is only showing..... just below half-way in the temp. I let it sit and idle for, I dunno, 10 mins or so and it got to about...2-3 marks above about 3/4 the way up, just curious if I'm just over-reacting or anything.

One last question...........

I was driving (after hooking up a boost gauge) and just screwing around I did a low 3rd gear pull to see how the boost was, and when I hit 5lbs the bottom just fell out of the motor and it just ran like crapp... still ran but wasn't nearly as strong. Obvious code 52...... but is this just some intermittent problem, or was this just a random fluke? Afterwards I took it out and ran it all the way through third gear (no tach and I couldn't see the boost gauge, no light) but I'm confident it was well above 5lbs... Anyway, the code 11 is fixed.... but I just hooked up all the grounds, started it, unhooked them all from each other *was going to isolate which one(s) was/were bad* and it seems like it "fixed itself". Whick is good news. Maybe one of the pins wasn't shoved in all the way or something. Anyway, a big thanks to everyone for their help.
