It came off of a W58 and was on a MKIV? I must be reading this wrong. If it's for a W58 then it will work on your tranny. I don't know what the mkiv has to do with it............Jay

While I don't know whether it will work or not, I wouldn't suggest using an unsprung disc on any street driven car, never mind a W58 which has a hard enough time withstanding elevated power levels on it's own.

Sidenote: You really should word your question like an actual question. Read that out loud and imagine someone saying that to you. Doesn't it sound dumb?

How about "I found someone selling an ACT 6-puck clutch with an unsprung hub. It's meant for a MKIV W58, but will it work with a MK3 W58?"

::edit:: Jay: MKIV N/A's have W58's ;)

I was just researching that. I'm not very knowledgeable about MKIII's, but I know even less about the MKIV's. If the W58 will bolt up to them, then does that mean the R154's will? If so then why cant we hook up a six speed without too many problems? HUH? HUH?....................:biglaugh:

back to my research.............lol

Keep researching Jay.
Every transmission can bolt up to any engine with the right bellhousing. ;)

A V160 (MKIV Getrag 6spd) will bolt up to a 1JZ, so you're in luck. The 7M community is not. lol
There are other complications however. The MKIV's shifter linkage is roughly 6" further back than the MK3's, so it would place the shifter in the coin tray behind the shifter hole.
It'd work... it'd just look funny.
The MKIV's W58 has a remote shifter linkage to place the shifter further back to suit the MKIV, so that wouldn't work on the MK3 either.

I did my own conversion, but I don't remember anything stopping me from doing it except for ignorance, and I worked around that..........good luck.
