I just installed a clutch master dual friction clutch and lightweight flywheel. I was finally able to test drive the car since the rebuild and I noticed that there is a vibrating or somewhat of a chattering noise coming from under the car only when the clutch is pressed in. In neutral or any gears it is fine. Was there anything else I was suposed to do besides install the clutch and flywheel. I aslo replaced the pilot bearing and was sure to follow the book on all torque specs. Can someone please help?

The tranny has to be removed in order to replace or check the throw out bearing, right?
Heres a list of things I found it could be

Damaged Or Excessively Worn Cv Joints.
Bad U-Joints In Drive Shaft Or U-Joints Misaligned.
Excessive Backlash In Differential.
Excessive Drive-Line Angle.
Bad Leaf Springs, Bushings Or Mounts.
Improper Gear Ratio Versus Tire Diameter.
^All of these seem unlikely since it wasnt a problem before^

Defective Pressure Plate And/Or Disc.
Disc Has Inadequate Or No Marcel (Not Enough Cushion Between The Friction Facings).
Worn Or Damaged Clutch Linkage.
Bent Cover Assembly And/Or Disc .
Improperly Tuned Engine.
Worn Or Damaged Engine Mounts Or Transmission Mounts.&Nbsp;

Sorry to be such a pain in the ass but I would realy like to try to have a good idea what it is before I just go and pull the tranny.

noise that goes away when you push in the clutch pedal? TO bearing.

something you should have replaced when you did the clutch.

Lagged... it only happens when I push in the clutch. Does that change what you think at all?

I meant to change the throw out beaing but I just completely forgot about it and got it confused with the pilot bearing.

Alright, cool. Thanks alot man. Now... would driving it do any imediate damage... like just to a place that I could work on it or should I get it towed? And anybody that has taken out the tranny... how long of a project is it.... is it doable in a full days work?

If you need some help let me know. Well if you are in ct. With an extraset of hands it should be doable in a days work. It isn't hard to replace, it is everything you need to take out that is a pita to get to the to bearing.

Thanks alot Jam... ill let you know. I just have to decide what to do because Im have the car with me in philly right now. And I might be able to work on my car at my friends place this sunday but that would mean I have to get it all done that day and I dont have any of my tools. If the car was able to handle it without doing damage then I could waite till next tuesday when I will be going back to CT for thanksgiving.
