Bled the shit out of my lines but now clutch is not engaging. The pedal wont go down to the floor the rod pushes the fork all the way to the pressure plate then grinds. Possible fork retainer bent???? Just installed new Fidanza flywheel and ACT stage 3 clutch. All other parts are new as well, shaft bearing carrier, bearings,washers,etc... new clutch fluid. THe pedal has free play then stiffens up????? Any help please. Thanks, Tejon

Hey there Tejon! We'll get you fixed up.

What do you mean by won't engage? Will the rear wheels never turn? Or the opposite?

When you put it in, you faced the disc 'snout' towards the pressure plate, not the flywheel, right?

Yes the snout is toward the tranny...about 90% sure I read that before I put it on. The clutch wont engage at all. There is some play with the fork on the fork guide(part that holds the throw out bearing). Thats normal right. I have a feeling the bracket that hods the fork is bent??? I watched the fork as my friend aplied the clutch and the bracket seemed to flex some then the fork touched the pressure plate. I see how the fork pulls away from the clutch when the petal is pushed but what pushes the throw out to the pressure plate when the clutch is not engaged??? Thanks Tejon

Tejon, you have an R154 - the pull type clutch, right? Did the fork slide into the correct spot on the throw bearing assembly?

The slave piston should push one end of the fork. The fork pivots, so the other end pulls the pressure plate away from the engine...

It sort of sounds like you don't have the fork positioned correctly on the throwout hub. The fork is supposed to pull on the hub when the pedal is pushed in, disengaging the pressure plate from the disc/flywheel. When you let the pedal out, the PP "springs back" and reengages the clutch disc.

Maybe the snap ring on the clutch hub inside the PP is broken or not seated. Any loose parts rattling around in there?

Ok guys I think I know what the problem is....sh*t,F^%k,Damn,ASS.....I put the entire throw out assembly outside the pressure plate toward the tranny. I think I was supposed to put the throw out bearing inside the pressure plate then the washers on the outside and clip down the c-clamps on the carrier. I screwed up and everything is put back together...starter,tranny,speedo,plugs,etc... DAMN IT. I didn't take any pics when first pulling everything out because I thought I was going to be back on the road in a week...then two weeks...then three months pass by and all the micro-fich I look at don't show the order the shit goes together. Sorry for the language but now I have another project to tackle..Damn it. Does anyone know the correct order. I'll have the tranny back out tonight if it falls on me and kills me. I pulled it out the first time and it was a beast getting it around my 3" exhaust, now it unbolted though. Thanks

hey dooood-
all driveshafts built by the driveshaft shop are on B.O. -- material issue (as of this last week and this week, hence the reason i don't have one of those either). ordered one made by jaws monday and arrived today... very nice piece of work btw.
