Hey all,
So I need some clutch/pp recommendations. I'm going to be swapping to 5 speed soon.

I would really like it if in your post you could indicate your experience. We all know how to use the internet and I'm not asking you to repeat something you heard on a website. Please tell me the clutch, pressure plate, how long you used it, your power level, etc.

My power goal is about 600-700whp and I'd like the clutch to hold that comfortable, some overhead would be nice.

Obviously you can't get everything you want, but this would be ideal:
Wish list:
-Sprung, comfortable, not too harsh, streetable
-Needs to hold around 600-700whp
-I'll be running it on an R154/2JZ so it needs to be a 7M clutch
-I'd like to spend under $1k for the clutch and pressure plate, if I have to spend more I'll just go with a twin disc no questions asked

Thanks guys in advance!

For that power level, I would just invest in a twin or triple disk clutch. I cant imagine a single disk holding that kind of power and torque safely for too long.

I agree a twin disc should suffice there are many out there : rps, tilton, ogura, quartermaster, os giken and so on...they are pricey but that's what you have to do to hold that power unless you want to go through them like crazy haha, good luck man! I've been told for street use the os giken is a good clutch on the r154 but I'm sure many people use others and love them!

i gotcha man i know these clutches cost a fortune it sucks :/ i too am going 2jz and keeping the r154 and will be looking for 700-800hp and will have to fork a ton out for a clutch to hold :( yay.. lol. i know there was a 2jz mk3 supra with around 700whp that was using a spec stage 5 unsprung clutch i believe not sure but it held

To be honest guys, if you're shooting for that kind of power I would just save up and get a clutch that will guarantee to hold my target power and then some reliably and not just for a couple of pulls either.

I think you all are missing the point. I'm not making 700hp.

I would like to know the best clutch I can get for under $1k, approaching 600-700hp. If it can't handle that power, that's fine.

I just need to know what is the best clutch for under $1k? Basically this all falls back to, if when the time comes to decide how much I can spend, and I can't afford a twin disc.. which clutch will I get. It goes hand in hand with the fact that if I can't afford more than 1k for a clutch I probably cannot afford to reach 700hp. I just want some overhead to be safe, I don't want a clutch that is rated for what I'm making.

Please guys, EXPERIENCE. Not just "I think", "you should", etc.. I want to hear "I have" ..
