Clutch Kit?

Going to be adding much power sooner or later. Will have a 7mgte + r154 soon if the guy answers.

Otherwise, what's a decent clutch kit for the w58? THis car is a daily so I'd like it to be smooth but this car is obviously a supra, haha. Also would be sweet if it's adjustable, Used to my clutch which is high, which I also like because I barely have to push on the pedal to shift.

Any tips?

Seconded. The OEM parts are cheap and more than adequate to the 7M-GE.

If you're going to go with turboing the GE, then take a look at the Action clutches from Driftmotion. There are a bunch of other good quality clutches as well. Don't go with unknown here.

Adjustment is not necessary (Or, for that matter possible) with the hydraulic clutch, since the hydraulics automatically adjust. You can adjust the pedal height, but not the engagement point.

Okay thanks, just a pressure plate and bearings. It's slipping bad right now. Normal driving it's okay though.. Pulling, shift to 2nd, clutch fully engaged I'm still going 6000 rpmXD

Also, may be doing the 1j swap if this guy with a 7mgte doesn't call back, 1j with the r154. Hopefully will get a big turbo upgrade, ~400hp or more. Need to drag my dad's built ls1 haha. Stock clutch good or look for upgades?

Btw you think the 1jz drift motion turbo kit from driftmotion (for like $1500) or the budget 1jz turbo kit from suprastore would be a better option?

There are 3 ways you can go.

Keep the 7M-GE/W58. Get the OEM parts. The cheap Autozone ones are PROBABLY fine, but I'd spend the extra couple bills for the Aisin (OEM) parts, and have something known good. It's the labour that's valuable for a clutch job anyway, so it's a false savings.

Keep the 7M-GE/W58 and turbo it. Get a good stage 2 or stage 3 clutch, depending on power goal. This is going to be harsher than stock. A stage 2 is still good for daily driving, and you can get used to a stage 3, though you may have some explaining to do if anyone else drives your car. (You may also have some explaining to do to the police officer behind you in the Tim Hortons drive-thru lineup at 2:30 AM when you accidentally squeak the tires on the concrete ramp by the pickup window the night right after installing the clutch. :p)

Move to a 1JZ or 7M-GTE and R154. Stop driving, or just replace the clutch disc if you must keep driving it. Save the money for an appropriate clutch for your new drivetrain.

Your last suggestion was stop driving? Huh? So I get a 1jz/r154 swap and then just stop driving and let it sit in my garage? Lol I'm confused. Don't make much since. If I go r154 I'lm probably going to have to change driveshaft and going to put on turbo mk3 3.73 lsd.

No, just don't drive with the W58 until the R154 is in the car, and you have the clutch which is appropriate for that. OR, if you NEED to be able to drive the car because it's your DD, then basically toss a new disc in there, to keep it driveable until you swap in the new driveline.
