clutch issue...

a couple of days ago i was turning out of a tim hortons and i punched it...
1st gear fine
2nd fine
as soon as i threw it into third and popped the clutch, my RPMs skyrocketed
but there was no power to the wheels :nono: also there was a nasty rotten egg smell..
could my new stock clutch be going after only 2000 kms ??
i took it out for a spin today with no issues :icon_conf in all gears (didn't get up to fifth)lol..
i think i read somewhere that you have to put it in 4th gear at a low speed and punch it. if it's going, it will slip.
Is that a good way to test the clutch?

yes put it into a high gear and floor it to test the clutch. are you modded beyond the capabilaties of the stock clutch? make shure you have the right amount of freeplay.

My personal test is from a dead stop at the entrance to a freeway. Go through first and second nice and easy, then pop it straight into 5th and give it full throttle.

If the RPMs bounce up at any point during the 5th gear pull without a corresponding increase in speed, there is something wrong with your clutch - either it's fried or it's setup wrong.

haha....that doesn't work with mine. Mine only slips in 4th and 5th gear at high boost....and only after 4k rpm.....

Your slave cylinder may have temporarily held the clutch in a bit when your propblem happened. Does the pedal action feel normal??? Any weirdness??

Smooth movement??? It should be very smooth all the wat thru.

i did the 5th gear test and RPM rose normally. 3 times
mrnickleye thanks for bringing that up.
about half way down, the pedal kinda pops.,squeaks(hard to explain)
it defenitely does not go down smooth :icon_conf

On another note

34 turbo press sensor WTF? --- apexi avc-r installed
52 knock knock --- i bought the rewire kit off a member here a few months ago and havn't had any ploblems untill today.
i hope it's not one of those $800 sensors lol
