did you reassemble it yourslef. like the clutch pressure plate and everything else? Maybe you put the enti rethrow out assembly outside the pressure plate towards the transmission :1zhelp:. someone else did that and they couldn't engage. i don't remember who tho.

yeah the toyo throw out bearing is very different setup than what ive seen on other cars, it pulls instead of pushes... sorta backwards.. and after i took it apart i almost installed it incorrectly.. i was definately nervouse when i got it back together... it works good. did you bleed the air out of the clutch slave cylinder?

only on turbo cars, and tranny swapped n/a's which use the r-154 transmission. the w58 (nonturbo) tranny is a push type.

when you try to put it in gear with the car running, what kind of resistance is it? Like does it grind? Also, have you tried putting it in gear, push the clutch down, and start the car (making sure there's nothingin front of you, of course). Not engaging, and not disengaging could be two very different problems.

sorry for being so vague i was in a hurry but i changed the pp and clutch. i took the whole clutch off the car, i got my fly wheel reserfaced and then i put the tranny back on with the pp and clutch disk on and bolted it up while the tranny was on the car. i checked everything and bolts etc. all were tighten down and everythign looked to be where it was supposed to be. but ok when it is running i push the clutch in and it seems like it needs to be bleeded, it seems like it almost go into gear but it wont and there is no grinding at all, it just wont go in. i dont hear anything werid noises when it is running. but when the car is not on it sounds normal and the pp and clutch disk is a ACT clutch kit.

That was me. DOH! Yea I put the TO bearing in backwards so that the snap rings faced the engine. Toasted my Spec st.2 disc and resurfaced flywheel in 8k miles. I'm surprised it lasted that long. That included 5 runs at the track.

The car i am going to buy is having the same problem. The lady told me that the shift fork and throwout bearing needs replaced. Hopefully it is something stupid like the fluid is low.

how did you manage to get it to work like that cryoslash? I did that, and the pressure plate wouldn't bolt up to the flywheel due to the clutch hub hitting the throw out bearing.

I don't mean to jack your thread man but i am just tryin to figure out the problem with my car as well.

I just checked the car and it had no fluid. We put some in and tried pumping it and the level didn't go down or nothing. Any suggestions? If they did put the throwout bearing in wrong would it still engage and disengage? Any help would be awesome.

you have to bleed the slave cylander in order to purge the air from the lines. :)
