Well i just put a cltuch flywheel and pressure plate on the engine and was following these instructions.

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=CL&Page=15

On step two it says to alight the match marks on the clutch cover and flywheel. I didn't see these marks. I'm using an action clutch that driftmotion sells and a 935 motorsports lightened flyhweel. The clutch went over the flwheel nicely and bolted done fine. Can the clutch plate and flywheel be installed incorrectly by not aligning these "match marks"?

If the clutch bolted down correctly and all the dowel pins from the flywheel went into the holes of the pressure plate then you will be fine.

Slow, you mind if I throw a question in here? Im about to do mine too, and I was wondering, well, I heard, you have to put the PP and disc on the shaft of the tranny and then put the tranny on in order to align the fly wheel, pressure plate and disc... Is that true? Because my RPS didnt come with an alignment tool...

Well an the alignment tool cost me 4.50 at kragen. I put the flywheel on then the the clutch and then the pressure plate. Then the transmission will slide right in. Well we will find out in the morning. I'm done working on the car for the night.

Whats Kragen? Let us know how it goes... I'd like to be able to put it all together with out having to dangle my tranny and engine off hoists...

Reign, I didn't use my alignment tool. The TSRM says to put the pressure plate/clutch disk on before putting the tranny in...who knows why though. Originally I thought it had to do with the clutch fork not fitting in after it's bolted up, but that wasn't a problem either. Was kind of annoying trying to fit a torque wrench inside the access panels to bolt up the PP.

Either way, two person heave-ho and with the front of the motor tilted up as much as possible, it'll slide right in =)

use the torque wrench through the slave cylinder hole...

make sure you grease all surfaces per the TSRM, trust me it makes putting the tranny ona nd taking it back of MUCH easier if there is a little grease on the end of the input shaft of the tranny

I would see using an alingment tool as more of a pain as in if you screw up putting the tranny in the very first time, you gotta reset the clutch plate again, I had zero problems assembling mine when I used all new parts (shop I took it to assembled the clutch wrong and the lip where the snapring sits was machined off because of this)

We usually put the pp and disk on the trans, then put the trans on the engine, then put the pp bolts in and tighten them through the slave cyl hole.
The tool is not needed if you do it that way.
