Alright i heard you can inspect your clutch pad without taking alot apart... Something about taking a couple bolts on ur bell housing and able to see the clutch?

i dont know where the bell housing is but is it possible to check it out?

what am i looking for if i can see the surface...

here is why im asking

when i shift from 1st to 2nd it seems to me like the gears are still spinning because it will make a noise like it crunched it in there... its usually just when i start going after i drive for a little bit seems to go away.. downshifting into 2nd i dont seem to have it ...

btw its a 5 speed with a stock clutch

the bell housing is bolted to the trans. there are two inspection plates on the bellhousing. as far as being able to see just how much wear is on the clutch from there, i dont know.

i already had my shifter out so i put the new tranny fluid into the hole where the shifter was...

Is it hard to get into gears often? I think it might be the pressure plate...It would not hurt for you to replace the stock clutch, and try going with syncromesh in the tranny. On a side note What boost were you running on the 14.4 run?

not much like 8 or 10 psi something around that... got my new exhaust in last week going to put it on this weekand hopefully... though last couple days i have hit 15 psi then hit fuel cut... its nuts...

it seems only hard to get into gears when its cold out.. and or the car is cold...
i hope to be able to hold out the stock clutch for one more summer

Clutch is super easy to test. Head for the freeway, put it in 5th at low RPMs (1500-2000rpm) and go wide open throttle.

Watch the tach & the speedo - if the tach suddenly start to spin up without a similar increase in speed, your clutch is fried.

If it doesn't, there is something else wrong.
