I have an 87 turbo and one day when i got into my car to start it, I despressed the clutch and it didnt return back up, it was stuck on the depressed position. I looked under my car and noticed a puddle of clutch fluid that looked like it was coming from the slave cylinder. I just replaced the slave cylinder today and tried to bleed it but i noticed there was another leak. I am not exactly sure where it is coming from, but i see drips coming down from where the transmission meets the engine. Right on the center there i noticed a small gap on the transmission. It seems to be leaking from there, but where could the fluid be coming from. Is it possible there is a leak inside the bell housing? maybe from like a bad seal or something?

if the Slave is leaking it goes right into the bell housing remember the slave is pushing the clutch for which is inside the bellhousing.

The post above is correct.. You probably just have to Replace the slave cylinder... its on the driver side of the transmission right beside the inspection plate... Its where you bleed the clutch from. youll need a 10mm flare wrench to remove the clutch line and a 12mm rachet IIRC to remove the slave cylinder. Its a simple fix.

p.s. I hope the brake fluid didnt saturate the clutch disk, because if it did, i forsee a clutch replacement in the near future... i would open the inspection plate and shoot some brakleen in there.

I just replaced my slave cylinder today. I was trying to bleed it, but in the process i noticed there was a another leak coming from where the transmission meets the engine. Anybody know what could the problem be?

when I replaced mine....I didn't get the shaft that pushes the fork in right and it basically poped out and allowed to push the plunger out and sprayed fluid out everywhere...take it off again and make sure something like this didn't happen...

Just cause you replaced it doesn't mean the part was good...chances are it is but things happen.
