Sounds like that pressure plate (which is known for causing endless problems) has eaten your throw out bearing.

throw out bearing is new w/the engine and the slave cylander.

New news.....i get in my car last night and it suddenly works, no grinding....what is going on? The car still in a sense bounces when i accelerate so is that from the clutch? why would it suddenly work? im so confused

maybe when it gets hot it doesnt grab well......... i noticed in my friends stang it gets a weird vibration when it is hot...... due to bad motormount

^Yeah...but it should grab well its made for that? Besides that though...whats up with the grinding happening so violently then suddenly stopping?

not that this helps but maybe you were drunk and pushin the break pedle :sarcasm:

just kiddin,

possible maybe you got the clutch hot and it stuck?

did you use enough greeze on the input shaft to keep it from stickin?

check your slave cylinder..i've had the same mystery in other toyotas until it finally just killed..check your master aswell, for leaks.

^slave was replaced with motor as well as throw out bearing. Clutch and such were all professionally installed by a mechanic who happens to race 7m's

as far as the clutch being hot...the car was started cold when this problem first reared its ugly head, actually both times i started it and this happened the engine was cold. And when i say cold i mean you can touch the exhaust manifold.

i'm lost personally, i've continued to drive it with no problems now except the feeling as though the engine is misfiring, has that effect like i'm down a cylander. just replaced the plugs which lowered my idle 100RPMs but still feels like bad acceleration (not smooth at all)

could you shift the tranny while engine is off?

mine whitch i just through new bearings and syncros in i have problems shiftin into second when the tranny is cold.

i would say change the fluid in the tranny, it may help yeah out,

do you know whats in it?/

im runnin royle purple, though i heard that redline shockproff mt90 is good stuff

another thing to check is the pedle freeplay,

this has gave me head ach's. you should have about 1/2 inch freeplay before it starts getting hard or stiff.

you dont want to much or it wont push the slave the full travle of the stroke.

^^when the problem first started i could not enter 1st and second for awhile, other gears would work. Thats before the noise started. Later when the noise first arose i could shift first and second while car was on but not w/o violent vibration. I did not try other gears.

I would drain the tranny fluid into a paint strainer to catch any metal flecks. The more you have the worse the senerio gets. Also remove both inspection plates off the transmission and make sure everything looks copasetic.

P.S Just for the hell of it check the torque on the PP bolts.
