about to do a cluster for my buddy hes puttinggauges in replace of the old lame boost gague and all of that my question is do you cut through the rear i belive its a circuit board or whatever it is? or do u just leave it off and put it back on when finished wiring up the gauges?

You cannot cut through the circuitry. Pull it off carefully, cut holes, pad the back of the gauge if it'll touch the overlay, then replace the circuitry.
