recently, i got a personal trainer and will be starting to work out monday to lose weight and tone muscle, and as a little reward for when i reach my goal, my mom wants to get me some nice clothes and she mentioned Abercrombe...any other places?

my goal for senior pictures (currently a sophmore) is at least 30W from the 44W that i am now, and i'm going on nutrisystem...is this a realistic goal?

and yes, i know i'm a fatass, i'll admit i'm a fatass...but i'm doing something to change that now...don't want to be waddling like a penguin when i'm 25 or have a heart attack

Good for you! Way to take the bull by the balls and really get going on this! My little brother did this. Aside from a sleep apnea problem, his diet and exercise were lacking and it was taking a toll on his mind and body. With family encouragement he got a personal training and on a serious program He lost over 100 pounds in a year. At one point, he was down to 220lbs.

I don't know if your goal is realistic - everyone's body is different, and yours may take less or more time than Sally or Jane to lose weight. What I can say is that if you give it time and you REALLY want it, it can be yours. Don't overdo it, but be disciplined and follow your diet and exercise plan. When you start seeing and feeling results, it should do a good job at keeping you going. Good luck, and here's to your health! :bigthumb:

do some running!
working out mondays is awesome, but working on it only one day a week is going to be a slow process.
You may want to do something else <eg running> on other days.

Edit: almost forgot, since you are in high school, you should totally sign up for a PE class...
last I checked, most High schools had PE requirements...
so instead of signing up for yoga, sign up for a strength conditioning class, if you arent sure, may want to look at what track/runners are taking, ditto for wrestlers, so maximize tone and weight loss.

i worked part time as a trainer for a while, and i've found if you try and quantify your results you are focusing on the wrong thing, in my opinion. everyone's body is different. so, instead of like saying, i want to lose "x" pounds or "y" number of inches off my waist... a better goal is to just base it on how you look and feel. you'll start to feel better almost immediately with a proper diet and regular exercise. but say, ok, my roommate and i look the same size. he's 6'0" 200, i'm 6'1" 225. we're both in really good shape, but he even looks a little bigger than i do, our bodies are just different.

just set your goal as looking good and feeling good and you'll have more success and not obssess over pounds and inches. just my 2 cents.

Doing weights with high repititions makes you lose wieght alot and gain muscle tone.

I personally like max. heavy wieghts with low reps. Builds muscle and strength alot.

Cheers,
Roy

yeah def i like the max too, but that's NOT something he wants to be doing... he wants to stick with the low weight high reps. then when you're all buff you can start on the bulk and strength. :)
