i just replaced the motor in my new car because the original one blew. i replaced it with my running, but in an accident motor. i filled it with straight water for leak check purposes and have been driving it for 2 days with some problems.

when i drive the car then shut it off the lower rad hose leaks on the rad side. once it cools it sucks up water from the resivor.

when its running if i put my hand on the upper rad hose and squeeze it i dont feel much water flowing. if i rev it with my hand there i feel a vacuum collapsing the hose. at one time it completely sucked in the upper and lower rad hoses.

any idea's? thanks

What does this have to do with a leaky hose? Replace the hoses and stop driving it until you do. Because you are leaking coolant, your system will end up running low on it and your going to anneal your head, then you will be back to square one.

did you read it? it doesnt happen when its running. only after i turn it off.like built up pressure .thanks for the concern but i know this. its not a constant drip. i have been keeping a milk jug of water in the car.

after changing the thermostat and cap all is well now.

thanks

You still need to replace your hoses.
