Climate Control Problem...

I have an 86.5 MKIII. The car is bone stock and loaded to the gills. Everything works great EXCEPT the "Low" fan blower setting on the climate controls. When the system is in "Auto" mode and I raise and lower the temp setting, Low is used by the system and works, but when I select Low manually on the control, nothing. I replaced the climate control with the newer black-button style....same thing. No Low fan unless in Auto mode.

If I turn the key to on without starting and turn Low on and off, I can hear something clicking behind the dash, but no fan blowing unless I switch to Med, High, or Auto. Are their separate circuits for Auto and Manual controls to the blower motor? Help! Driving me nuts!!!!! :1zhelp:

been working AC for the last few months now. There are 3 resistors for the speeds and its independent for the auto setting.

Common problem on these cc's. I'm quite sure the part # for the resistor is: 87138-24030. gl.

I saw that too, but aren't the only differences which would cause something like this inside the CC module? So what, two bad CC modules or do the separate circuits get power from different locations?

I'm generally alright at deciphering the TEWD... the A/C section is one of the few that i just can't follow though.
