alright so ever since i got my car i cant control the temp in it. it is stuck at 85 degress all the time. everything else works but i cant control the temp. it hasnt been that much of a deal since its been winter and all. but once the cold breaks it might suck. so i was wondering if anyone else has been through this problem. i thought it might possibly be a bad connection on the button. like some build up on it. but i took it out and relized you cant take the panel apart. so.... i looked and read something bout a fuse on the driver side kick panel. i only found 2 things down there and they werent fuses. and i am sure getting a whole new unit is not cheap. so if anyone has some info for me that owuld be great!

Sounds like the button's oxidized.... Precisely the reason I kept my old pre89 CC..... same buttons..... kinda tricky to swap though.

Well, anything's possible... I'm sure I could do it, it's simply a question as to which is simpler, desoldering and replacing the switch or tearing the little bastard apart and cleaning the contacts.

I myself find the replacement easier.

As for the GLUE?! huh? There's no glue in either of my CC's.

maby look around for a used CC unit in the fs section, so you dont have to muck about with the old unit :icon_bigg

From what I've found, most of the older units are in need of a rebuild as well.... if you're picky.:icon_wink
