cleaning my engine bay?!?!

so im getting my supra sunday and i am gonna tear some of it apart and super detail everything. but with the engine im wondering, would it be ok to spray some degreaser everywhere and just spray it down? should i cover up the turbo and air box?

Cover all the electrics/connectors, and don't get any water down the center of the head. Other than that, spray away.

after i sprayed down my car after purchasing it the engine started missing i took out the spark plugs and they were submerged in a pool of water

^ when i cleaned my engine bay, i made sure that the cylinder head was covered (since my valve covers were cleann) and my alternator too, then took degreaser, and a pressure washer, did the job well :) but it would be better to clean when engine is out, there wouldnt be any having to cover things, well except for a few hoses and wire harnesses :)

what i did was purple power and a presure washer but insted of spraing from the top of the engine to the bottom go to the bottom if the engine (under the car)... then spray on..try to comer the air box though
