LOL, I was reading about this long time ago, and the vehicles they were testing failed like every safety test they had.

silly chinese people, my folks over there sure are silly trying to make something that garbage

anyone is capable to make a good, but coming from a government that doesnt care about the little things, such as human rights to workers (why china has such a big presence in africa)... you wont expect much heh... im sure ALOT of these will still sell as well in areas that only see/care about the pricetag

LMAO.

Hell, I HOPE they bring them out here - when some stupid bitch on a cell phone rear-ends my TANK of a Supra, I'll just have to buff some Chinese paint out :D

If someone gives them a good design to make and once they iron out the metallurgy issues you'll end up with a good car at a very low price due to their labour costs.

Give it 10>15 years and very little will be made outside China other than small volume high end boutique products.

there's a chinese company that bought the rights to manufacture the old style jeep Cherokee's (only with a 4 cylinder, the 6 cylinder isn't available) The metallurgy isn't that great, but it's a proven design, and frankly, if they came over here selling one for 7 grand, I'd buy it.

well hopefully everyone becomes a smart consumer.. and that will never happen...... buy the brake pads from china that'll save you a dollar or buy the brake pads from japan?

(toys from china anyone? lead painted thomas the tank engine toys? dogfood that uses poison to replace protein because it is cheaper?) china has a very bad rap sheet for production and the factories will cut corners if possible for their own interest to make more money...

i'll never buy anything from china..

When I cross 150mph, I want to know my wheels will stay on my car and that my brakes will not fail. I'll pay 30, 50, even 100 dollars more to get parts I know I can trust.

But yes, eventually china will have to up their quality control and design principles if they want to compete in a global marketplace. It took today's major automakers to get past making a box with wheels and a motor, and onto making the high tech, highly efficient, and well designed vehicles we see from them today. I mean, our Supras come standard with stuff that isn't even standard today, almost 20 years later (more for you 86.5 guys ;) ) But of course... there's that whole 7M and headgasket issue... yeah, we'll just not talk about that :nono:

I always pictured Japanese on site quality control as a dude with a samurai sword that cut off your fuckin' arm when you screwed up. So, thus they had a "two strikes, you use your fuckin' feet rule". :biglaugh:

Isuzu trooper? someone in the youtube comments said they had it because they had a trooper but it looks shorter...

so this is a whole new carmaker right? not a Chinese takeover of a proven design? because it does look a lot like a trooper.

one of those couldnt make it over here could it? would it legally make it past all the requirements? dont we have some kind of safety standard for this kind of problem? that crash was horrible!

We do have standards, that's why it's a bitch to get JDM cars over here legally that were never released to the US, so much shit has to be put on them to make them "acceptable".

ROFLMAO guys.....

Most of you aren't old enough to remember when "Made In Japan" was a joke and most of the product that came from there was cheap crappy junk.....

Then it was "Made in Taiwan" (after the Japanese got their shit together)

Taiwan got the issues sorted and quality went up next was Korea anyone remember the early Hyundai cars?

China are on the same learning curve and will get it sorted as for educating consumers it's human nature to go for the price so if they improve the quality people will buy from them hence my earlier post that unless it's high end boutique type product Western manufacture will die out.
