check eng. light on after hard pulls

Well my 1j is pretty much stock but when I lay into to redline the check eng light comes on but the car drives normal. As soon as I turn the car off and then on again the check eng. light is gone. Whats up with this?

Do you have a speed cut defender? My check eng. light would come on because the speed sensor wire was cut because I did not have a SCD.

or if your speedo doesn't work (broke cable or something) it will come on as well as its not seeing a speed signal..

You could check the codes and see what # it throws.. that would tell you what it is..

i'm sure its your speed thingy they're talking about. if i go above 110ish mph my light well come on. i check the code and its the speed signal or something like that. i forgot, but it never effected anything.

Check Engine light procedure is the same as 7m

yeah its probably the speed sensor as there is no speedo cable. guess I'll be calling Jeff at Champion tom. for a new cable.
