What's up everyone.
I just got my supra back from toyota to have the clutch, flywheel and rear main seal taken care of.. Since I have gotten it back( yesterday ), I have noticed 2 things.
1. When sitting at a stop light in neutral, some kind of strange vibration is coming from the rear end. seems like it might be the drive shaft or the exhaust, but none the less it was not there before this.

2. When in reverse, there is some kind of clatter going on in the engine bay when being rev'd to move.

Does anyone have an idea as to what's going on here. I'm not really happy with the dealer here. I'm just not unhappy enough to feel wronged, but I am deffinitley unhappy enough with spending 400$ there that I will go and chew someone out. I just wanted to get some responces from some of you as to what you guy's may think it could be before I do so. I am thinking that maybe the clutch hasn't made friends with the flywheel yet and is causing noticable turbulence. But for some reason I am not sure it is even that at all. Any comments would be cool. Stay up, Drive fast.

Did they resurface the flywheel or replace it? All the clutches I have done did not behave like that, just a little slipping at first. Does it only vibrate when the clutch is engaged or disengaged or both? Also, does it vibrate when you are driving at all?

replaced the flywheel. it seems that the vibration occurs when the clutch is engaged. It seems the chatter happens when it is engaged. it only vibrates if you are without motion and the clutch is engaged. If i am @ a stop light and it starts, I disengage the clutch and it stops. thanks 4 the responce.

what do you mean if your at a stop light and it starts. If it is a 5-spd car you should have your foot on the clutch pedal anyway which would disengage the clutch. If you didnt the car would stall out and cut off.

But bottom line, like I said in the other thread, if its acting up take it right back to toyota so they can fix it. They shouldnt charge you a dime to do so since they are the ones that did the work

I'm going to....., again. I took it back 2 hours after I picked it up a few days ago. I feel like they are shurking me off. I don't want to get all off the deep end with them. I'm n ot happy with the service. I took it to them to avoid just these types of shannanigans. I can't decide on exactlly what to do. I honestly affraid that I will get sideways with them and that will bring no resolve. when I hold the pedal I get some kind of vibration that almost has to be the drive shaft, because I can't see how it could be the exhaust. I'm wondering if it could be that these parts act like this until they are broken in. It is a 5spd. I sit @ the light put the car into neutral and remove my foot from the clutch pedal and the knocking from the rear vanishes. I was curious as to what you guys think they may have done wrong. Toyota won't tell me shit.

dude, fuck that and them. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but when you pay someone to do you a service they damn well better get it right and get it right the first time. Go back to them again and tell them what the issue is and tell them that you want it resolved and quickly. If they dont want to then tell them you want your money back so you can take it to someone who can. If they continue to give you shit get a lawyer, make sure you tell them that you plan to do so too. You'd be suprised how the mention of court and a lawyer will make people start moving their monkey asses. But when my car was able to move under its own power the only vibrations i felt where in the shifter, the rest of the car was completely rock solid. So you are right whatever they did, they didnt do right. So be firm and tell them to do what they promised to do right the first time.

Edit: and who cares if they get sideways, a judge will side with you. Just make sure you keep as much documentation as possible and if the refuse to do the work again go to some other shops and get some estimates so you know how much to sue for. I just wish you lived here in NC, Id rock that dealership off its foundation until I got everything resolved

It's me that gets sideways way too easily. There is already 1 law suit going on with the car. I am into trying to get the resolve with out all of the rocking. I do not want to burn this bridge. But I am not going to sit here and be taken advantage of either. You seem a bit wound up today 1 tuff. I'm on the phone with them now, I'll let you know what they say. If I feel like they are trying to not honor there comitment then yes, I will go out there and I will stand in front of the required desk and hound someone until I get it. I just want to be sure that I am not taking things the wrong way. I'll drive a city over and go to the dealer there and pay them a couple hundred buckes to fix what this dealer messed up. And if they will not honor it, I will seek ways to help change there mind.

I just got off of the phone with them and they are telling me to bring it in on monday. I also posted this in the other thread we were speaking in, because I screwed up, my fault, sorry. They will go over all of the work that was done to the car. If there is a problem due to there tech. They will fix it for free. I really appreciate you guys tolerating me. I always appreciate any advice given and for the large majority, I respect the opinions of everyone here. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for this.

It is cool they are going to fix it for you. I know who ever replaced my clutch before I owned the car, forgot to reinstall the pilot bearing and this would let the disk drop down when the clutch was pressed in. Then when you let up, the disc is not centered and the top front and bottom rear of the disc engage first and chatter. Just something to double check..

Yeah I have my moments, but what really gets me is when the stealership is trying to take advantage of the average Joe like you and me after we paid good money for a service job. Im probably just getting amped up because before now the only service folks Ive had to deal with were mitsu and they were complete assholes. Like when my car got rodknock I had to take off every component I had ever added to the car in order to get it serviced or they wouldnt honor anything, and that was on a 40,0000 mile car. So that meant all power adders, suspension mods, rims and tires had to come off. Needless to say, it was a huge pain in my side. I just didnt want you to have to deal with it all. Looks like it turned out for the best though. Im happy to see that. :bigthumb:

tires and rims????????????? That's bs. Normal people do not think like that. The only people that think like that are the mofo's that say..., buyer beware. They are just waiting to bend anyone over they think they can get away with. LOL@ stealership.
