One of my first cars was a brown metallic 73 Camaro Type LT. I bought it with 14" fan spoke wheels, with maybe 80 or 100 thin spokes per wheel. They were cast, ugly and actually hit my brake calipers if I tried to rotate the tires front to rear.)
Bought a set of 85 Z28 rims of a wrecked one, they were silver and in bad shape. Stripped them down, and painted them white gloss. It looked pretty good, and I did not see any cars like mine anywhere else at the time. (Lots of people either loved it, or hated it, but it was pretty polarizing for sure.) Soon after that, I noticed more sports cars with white wheels on them... LOL I don't claim to be a trend setter, but it was at a time when only pickup trucks and 4X4's were running white wheels... Cars either had mags, or painted rims with hubcaps.
Point being, I like it.
Today none of my cars have white rims, but some are silver, the other ones are anthracite or dark gray. (Gunmetal.)
