Do you mean it revs better when you take the o2 sensor out of the downpipe? Or just unplug it? Sounds like you have a plugged cat. Cut your cat off, and see if its any better. Should pick up a few hp too. lol. As for the charcoal canister, The bottom line goes to a vent on your gas tank, All it does it take gas fumes out of the tank and put them through the intake manifold. Something to do with reducing HC emission. I just took my charcoal canister out, and hooked a vaccum line directly up to a gas tank line with an inline fuel filter from an rc car. No ill effects so far

:umno: The bottom line is vented to atmosphere. It just tucks into the little grommet on the frame rail.

Checking for any ECU codes would be a good start for the other problem.

in short, dont listen to a word this guy says.

first start by checking your error codes. then post back. and i repeat, IGNORE EVERYTHING Isphius says from now on. seriously.

yes it does rev a little better when i unbolt the oxygen sensor from the down pipe i just get 400 more rpm compared to no rev at all and just idles at 1000 should i just unbolt the exhaust to se if its the clogged pipes.so the charcoal bottom hose is just vented to the atmosphere or what

yeah you can check the cat if you want, but you have to check the error codes other wise you will be simply barking up all the wrong trees. this isnt an SBC. you have an entire system dedicated to helping you find your problems. use it.

the charcoal canister has two lines on top, one coming from the tank, and one going to the BVSV on the tstat housing (blue vacuum switch with two ports, one coming from the charcoal canister and one going to the throttle body)

the port on the bottom of the CC is simply vented to atmosphere.

if you want to remove the charcoal canister, you must block off the line coming from the tank, and drill a hole in your gas cap to vent the tank.

DO NOT simply leave the line open in the engine bay. ignition sources DO exist in the engine bay so it would be extremely foolish to vent you GASOLINE vapors to the engine bay, as Isphius suggested.

First of all, If you read my post, I said i hooked the gas tank line up to a vaccum port with an inline filter. maybe i Didnt say "inakte manifold vaccum port", But a vaccum port being a port with vaccum, So assuming it is on the intake manifold. Which is not venting the gas tank into the engine bay. Its doing the exact same thing as stock, Just without a vaccum switch. Second, I love how you say not to listen to me, and then once the OP suggest doing the cat thing, you agree with what I said in the first place. Plugged cats are extrememly common on our cars, Especially turbos. It happened on both of my cars, which are both mk3 supras.
