Dude, the only pipe you need to deal with is plugging the one on the firewall. Either a hose, two clamps and a bolt, or buy a cap and clamp.
Remove your entire can, lines and the vac lines too. (Leave the heat activated switch in the themostat housing, unless you want to remove it and try and find a plug.. )
Good luck. I've found it's a great location for a bypass filter, kind of warm, but not too warm I belive with coatings and other heat controls...
Here is a pic. You see the green topped bypass filter where your vapor canister is? See that small blue hose with the bolt in it clamped onto the hard pipe going back to the gas tank from your canister? That's the ONLY one you have to plug off.
