My lightly modified 7mgte head gasket went. There was a slight and i mean slight tapping when the car would start up then go away after about 2-3seconds max. I figured the water took out a bearing. I took the head apart and took it to headgames to get it decked. After i dropped the head off i went home to double see if there was anything else that was pysically wrong.

I then spun the motor around so each pistong would barely go past TDC and pushed down on the pistons to check for any play in the rods. all cylinders were fine up untill the 5th cylinder. When I pushed down on it it dropped about 1/16 to 1/8th of an inch indicating rodplay. I lost my temper and went inside without looking under the car. Im probobly just going to 2jz swap it however i want to throw this motor back together temporarily untill i get all the parts/ money in order to do the swap properly. I know the answer to my own question allready but for some reason i need to ask haha can i just drop a new bearing in it and if so is it possible without pulling the rest of the motor and just pulling the pan? If not im going to end up doing a full rebuild and i was trying to stay away from that so i can save cash for the 2j

Since the head is off it would be like most of the work already done to just pull the block.

You can just change that one bearing as long as the crank isn't messed up. It's not the best option but can be done in a pinch for temp.
