Would there be any reason heat wise to not coat your valve covers? Do they perform any essential heat sink function or anything?? I sent a bunch of stuff off to be 2000 degree coated, and though "why not" on the valve covers.... I still have a chance to stop it in case I'm making a mistake

No reason not to, except I would go with a shiny 1600' coating and not the 2000. The 2000 degree coatings only come in satin or matte finishes.

no reason to hi temp the valve covers, but I guess it wont hurt.
I have 2000 degree polished finish on some stuff. So I know it does exist

yeah its the chrome finish. I would have just powdercoated them, but this ceramic coating shouldn't ever even think of coming off, and I wanted it to match the other stuff. My ceramic coated heat shields have been coated for years and they still look new.

i wouldnt waste it on the valve covers. I would do the exhaust manifold first.

heh, I agree, but I was too lazy to take the turbo off..... maybe someday, and it was like $60 to coat the valve covers, so no big deal
