center bearing?

I have a good two piece laying around, but why not just go with a good alluminum one piece shaft? They seem to be the best combination of light weight, strength and price. (Much more cost effective than my CF unit, and just about the same weight as the CF unit has iron yokes where the alloy ones are alloy on the shaft side.)

+1 on the single piece driveshaft option...one of the best upgrades I've done. Read this post:

No...I'm not a saleman for Jaws Gear. I just had a very good experience with them and the price was right. Basically for an additional $150 (over the $250 you quoted) you will never have to worry about that damn center bearing again and you get new upgraded U-joints.

Here's the website:
http://jawsgear.net/store/catalog/

Phone # is at the top...call and ask for Jeff. I'm pretty sure a steel one piece will be cheaper...it's still better than the stock one, just a bit heavier than the aluminum DS. The big advantage for aluminum is it's more torsonial...it absorbs some of the shock from a high HP motor. Jaws was about $50 cheaper for the aluminum shaft...donno about the steel. Took Jaws about a week to get it out to me...you should be able to run yours for that long. That is unless the center bearing is completely FUBAR.

The center bearing can vibrate like heck and I'll bet your U-joints are not the best if they are the original ones. That's what mine was doing...when I replaced the DS, it made a huge difference.
